Remake of The Story of a Man Among Men (1984)

Ryuji Inahara changed the name of the Inahara-gumi to the Inahara-kai, and accordingly unified the emblem of the Inahara-kai. Then, in 1961, Inahara-kai opened a new headquarters office in Roppongi, Tokyo. Further incidents and conflicts await Ryuji and the Inahara-kai.

Ryuji Inahara, the heir to the Atami Yamazakiya family, subsequently placed the group under the control of the influential members of the Guretai, known as the "Yokohama Four Heavenly Kings," and the Inahara group quickly expanded its influence from Yokohama to the Tokaido region. The world of yakuza then enters the era of Ryuji Inahara and Masao Tashiro, the third generation member of the Yamaga-gumi.

Denzaburo Kato, the third generation leader of the Horii family whose territory encompasses the Yokohama area, has a dramatic encounter at a certain judo hall with a young man who would later shake up Japan's yakuza society. The man's name is Ryuji Inahara, the future president of the Inahara-kai!

Two college students hunt for money. However, their attacker is a yakuza, and the two are beaten back. One of them runs away and gathers a team of people to strike back. The other is caught and runs away.

Shura, a telephone operator, is disliked by her management for her straightforward demeanor. One day, a limping newcomer with the strange surname Prosvirnjak arrives, and Shura takes an instant antipathy to him.

After clinical psychologist Ned Freeman gets arrested for public intoxication, he's court-mandated to run a group of New York lonely-hearts.
